Non-Academic Field Trips And Events
The University recognizes that a variety of activities can be a part of University life and many such activities take place away from the University. This might include but certainly is not limited to Student Services sponsored ski trips, group trips to a local baseball game, Housing sponsored welcoming events to the beach, etc. etc.
Many of the procedures related to academic field trips apply but the totally voluntary nature of the activity changes the dynamics somewhat and the release and hold harmless agreements are much more important in limiting the University’s liability. Departments should contact the Risk Manager and develop a trip specific agreement to be executed by each participant.
